THIS IS THE PT1000, not PT100


PT1000 sensor with fibreglass heat proof sleeving, and high temperature wire. (2-wire type).

PT1000 sensors use platinum to detect change in temperature due to changing resitance. Unlike thermistors they work over a wide range of temperatures and are capable of 400 degrees Celsius in 3D printing applications.


Can be wired direct to Duet Wifi and Duet Ethernet see duet forum.


Might be possible to connect them to 8-bit boards (Marlin etc.) as a thermistor but you will need to create a thermistor table and the resolution might not be very high as the resistance range is fairly small between room temp and printing temps. Some investigation is needed here.


Supplied with 200cm high temperature wire (up to 200 deg C), and fibrglass sleeving for use near the heater block these units have an E3D cartridge style sensor, which fits E3D heaterblocks, 15mm length and 3mm diameter.


Resistance measured 1071 Ohms at 20 degrees C (referenced against k-type thermocouple, some variation in this figure is expected between samples). Resistance rises linearly as temperature rises.
